What is Ayurveda ?

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine born in India, 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.

Ayurveda is an elemental science that focuses on 5 elements: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. These 5 elements are in everything around us, and they are also in everything within us (our physical body, but also our minds, emotions etc).

Each element has a specific profile and characteristics, and Ayurveda offers us concrete tools to balance them and find great health.

What is most important when working with Ayurvedic principles in mind is that it is not a "one size fits all" system and it is a deeply individualized approach: Ayurveda takes into account the season, the living environment of the person, the stage of life and other individual and deeply personal aspects (trauma, genetic traits, personal history etc).

Ayurveda invites us to meet ourselves where we are, today. What a gift !

How Can Ayurveda Support Me ?

When working with Ayurvedic principles in mind, we usually will look at food and digestion, self care practices, energy regulation and herbal support. It is an accessible approach that makes our lives easier and simpler, not more complicated.

Ayurveda is excellent at addressing chronic concerns and working both preventatively and curatively. Because we get to the root cause of things, it's much easier to alleviate symptoms and avoid their reoccurence.

With this holistic approach, Ayurveda supports people widely, from physical symptoms (digestive issues of any kind, sleep disruption, lack of energy, nervous system regulation, specific organ support etc) to mental symptoms (fear, worry, anxious feelings, rigidity, fogginess etc) and emotional symptoms (grief, hopelessness, social and spiritual connection, life purpose etc).

Does it sound too good to be true? Maybe.

Consider for a moment, though, that our wellbeing starts with what we feed ourselves and how we digest it (including digesting emotions and life experiences), and continues with how we manage our energy levels, as well as feel a sense of belonging.

When we learn what works best for us, as a unique individual, we have the keys to thrive.

Ayurveda considers the wellness of the body, mind, soul and spirit as separate pieces and as a whole, with concrete suggestions and practical recommendations to help us feel how we want to feel.

Whether you are a complete newbie or a seasoned student of Ayurveda, there is always something new available to support your wellness. Let your curiosity guide you.

Ayurveda does not discriminate, is accessible and is meant for all of us to be healthier, happier and freer.
